CURING THE

GAY NEUROSIS




When Donald Black cured his neurosis that caused him to repress his anger he was undergoing group psychotherapy based on the Science of Psychodynamics. That was in the late 1960s some 40 years ago. Obviously there have been developments in psychological therapy since then. There are now many therapies from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT, not to be confused with Cock and Ball Torture, a form of sadism and masochism) to Primal Therapy and Dramatherapy (which includes role-playing).

     Nowadays, Psychodynamics are seen by some to be "old-fashioned" and "out of date". (This may be a defense mechanism to save themselves from being "cured".) However, Donald's neurosis was cured by an interpretation of "what must have happened" in his mind to cause the neurosis he was suffering from (see WHAT IS A NEUROSIS?). The cure was based on theory but as the cure was effected by this theory it must prove that the theory was correct. And it is this cure that he passes on to others in his book Escape the Gay Straitjacket.
